Blogg Journal #6

I do not care for Diego. Initially I do not understand the function of it nor understand how to use it. It seems a bit outdated and not as up to speed as newer functions.

Blogging has been an interesting journey. I do not always feel comfortable writing the prompts and feel like my knowledge doesn't meet the standard for the given topic. It's something I'm learning to work with.

One example of a Web 2.0 system that can be used to enhance teaching is Edmodo, a social learning platform for teachers and students. Edmodo provides teachers with a virtual classroom where they can post assignments, quizzes, and discussion topics for students to engage with. Students can also use Edmodo to interact with their classmates and teachers, ask questions, and receive feedback on their work. The platform also allows for easy integration of multimedia resources, such as videos and images, to further enhance the learning experience.

Standard 8.A.3.1: Demonstrate an understanding of computer networks and the internet, including their history and development, the components and their functions, and the impact on society. This standard is about understanding the basics of computer networks and the internet. It covers the history and evolution of these technologies, as well as their components and how they work together to allow us to access information and communicate with each other. It also covers the impact that computer networks and the internet have had on society, including both positive and negative effects. This Standard would probably not be my greatest strength. I do not consider myself the most tech savvy and my knowledge in the internet and computers is limited.

The CPALMS Educator Toolkit is a valuable resource for teachers in Florida. The toolkit provides a wealth of resources to help teachers implement the state's education standards, including lesson plans, text resources, and student tutorials. These resources can be accessed by selecting a grade level and subject area, and then selecting one of the standards. The lesson plans, text resources, and student tutorials provided in the CPALMS Educator Toolkit can be used in a variety of ways to support teaching and learning. For example, teachers can use the lesson plans as a guide for their own teaching, or they can use the text resources to support their students' learning. The student tutorials can be used to provide students with interactive, self-paced learning experiences that support their understanding of the standards. Overall, the CPALMS Educator Toolkit is an excellent resource for Florida teachers, providing them with the support they need to effectively implement the state's education standards in their classrooms.

As a teacher, it is important to be a proficient Internet searcher because the Internet has become an indispensable tool for finding information and resources for teaching. With the vast amount of information available online, the ability to effectively search for and locate relevant and trustworthy information is crucial for teachers. In today's classroom, teachers are expected to use technology to support learning and provide students with up-to-date and accurate information. This requires a deep understanding of the tools and strategies for searching the Internet, including the use of keywords, advanced search operators, and the ability to critically evaluate the results of a search.

Copyright is a type of intellectual property that protects original works of authorship as soon as an author fixes the work in a tangible form of expression. Fair Use is any form of a copy of the original writing that is to add onto or approved by the original author. As a teacher, we use a lot of other people work to teach student. Most lesson plans are taken from things we've seen or experienced in a classroom ourselves. Its important to teach our students the difference between plagiarism and appropriately using sources to aid our work.

With technology comes the scenario we=here things can go absolutely sideways. Technology is meant to help everyone and make life easier. Unfortunately some people take advantage of this. Cyberbullying and Academic dishonesty are two majors that come to mind. Cyberbullying occurs because people feel safe behind a screen and do not see the consequences for their actions. Academic dishonesty occurs because there is so much information out there that some kids do not feel as if they cannot come up with new ideas for themselves.

With the newsletter project, I learned a lot about word art and how to add diagrams and pictures to my word documents. Although I forgot to add a hyperlink in the newsletter, I find that as an important skill to know. I enjoyed this project a-lot nd I feel as if its something I will take with me into my professional career.

My experience with Microsoft Word has been a lengthy one. As far back as I remember, everything I worked on in high school, middle school and even some elementary has been done through Word. Every semester, my classes would always have a refresher course on how to set up our Word documents to match the MLA format we were required to use. In Elementary school we would create newsletters for our classes to send home to our parents every so often. Word is an essential tool.

I believe to most important tool in ITSE standards is the community portion. I believe as teachers, the first goal is to educate students to know basic knowledge and skills to help contribute to society. Students need to know how to contribute to their society and help improve it. A successful student is one that is a functioning member of society.

Lastly, I agree AND disagree with the narrative of the Digital Native. I believe society is focusing more and more on technology and urging students to become functional in that sense since it is the future. But, I do not believe that students have become too reliant and are unable to pick their heads up out of their computers. Young people are still able to analogue tasks and find themselves engaging in tasks that use zero technology.
